Frank’s Tie remains the frontrunner, despite the fact that its featured photo was a fuzzy close-up of a tacky Christmas necktie taken with my mobile phone. Chalk this up to Frank’s huge network of Facebook fans.
The No. 2 spot features Sophie’s New View — the Chicago skyline outside her dorm room at DePaul University.
Picnic Point Peril offers an unremarkable photo of the Madison skyline and a “harrowing” story of sandals nearly lost to the Lake Mendota shoreline muck.
Shake the Lake is my first attempt at capturing fireworks, while Mixing it up at Charlie’s commemorates the milestone birthday of a good friend.
A Visit to the Chicken Store recalls a fun day when Amanda and I went looking for landscape and found a unique retail store filled with poultry paraphernalia.
Returning (Inspiring) Adult Students is not really about the photos… it’s about real people and really inspirational stories.
Full Blast at Full Compass and Bucatini, Cannoli, and Laughter both highlight food, fun and philanthropy.
Rounding out the 10 most popular posts, Calypso and Lauren serves up a photogenic pooch smooch. Equally important, this post has the distinction of being the highest ranking canine photo.
Dave’s Faves
This is a photo blog, so it’s interesting to me that the most popular posts are not necessarily those with the best photographs. Popularity notwithstanding, here are my favorite posts from each month:
- Jan: A sunrise bike commuter passes Monona Terrace, and I’m there to catch it
- Feb: (tie)
- Amanda decides to transform Juno into an emotional support animal
- My talented friend and colleague, Dean, has a book-signing event
- Mar: students from the Odyssey program visit the Chazen
- Apr: Amanda’s school science project involves running Kenny the rat through a homemade maze, in the dark
- May: the boys in the band stand out in the street
- Jun: I discover Lake Wingra’s big spring
