Jane is a neighbor and fellow photography enthusiast. In fact, we shoot with the same Nikon D7100 camera body, so we often exchange tips and tricks. Jane is also a frequent commenter on this blog, and an occasional subject for one of my photographic experiments.

She was quick to volunteer her musician husband, Steve, for this series. When I asked what would capture her milieu, I was surprised by the answer—knitting. I learned that Jane spends a lot more time with needles and yarn than she does with camera and lens.

Nonetheless, I had to capture at least one fun image of her with her trusty Nikon.

  • Frequent commenter here….thanks so much for including us in the project! You’re amazing! And what an interesting process….makes a lot more sense to me. Now that I’ve been on the other side of your camera I’d like to add that you make the experience very comfortable for the subjects.
