Hello, fellow Bodgery members! Thank you for your interest in this project.
If you are ready to sign up for a portrait session, click here to jump to the registration page. Otherwise, read on…
I want to take your photo. More than that, I want to tell your story—what you make, how you make it, why you do it, and how it feels. How can we convey all of that in a single photograph? That’s the challenge!
On June 18, I had the pleasure of photographing Jay Larson as he launched his handmade drift boat. After observing his work on this for more than a year, it was gratifying to be there for the launch. This experience reminded me of a fun portrait series I did several years ago, about people and their vocations or hobbies.
I am recruiting Bodgers to pose for portraits. Participants are encouraged to bring “props” such as tools or implements, raw materials, a project in progress, or a finished item–anything that represents your unique creative interests. If the finished project is too large to bring into the classroom (e.g., a big red drift boat), we may be able to make other arrangements.
I will set up a portrait studio in the Bodgery classroom on the following dates:
- Saturday, July 10
- Sunday, July 11
- Additional dates may be added, based on demand
Your participation in this project is strictly voluntary. No fees and no obligation. You will receive high-resolution digital copies of your own portrait, with no restrictions or watermarks. You are free to post, print, or distribute your photo as you wish. The Bodgery will receive a complete set of all edited digital files.
Please choose a time for your photo session
