Buri is a graphic artist with a flair for fresh, clean design. He is a friendly guy with a bright smile. But when you see him riding his Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle, you might get a different impression. In keeping with his bike’s mysterious moniker, Buri is decked out in matching black helmet, cycling jacket, boots, and gloves. A fierce, fast look, for sure.

Lighting Buri in his ninja noir ensemble, while keeping the background dark, was more difficult than I imagined.

In addition to the black-and-white shots, we experimented with a red backlight on the concrete wall. With a boost from Color Efex Pro, this created a fiery, textured backdrop.
