We returned to Maine in August for our annual pilgrimage. As we have done for many years, we stayed on Long Pond on Mountain Desert Island, near Acadia National Park.

Visiting Hadlock Falls, I employed a tripod and 10-stop neutral density filter to extend the shutter speed, and smooth out the water cascading over the rocks, creating a soft, cotton-like texture.

Mount Desert Island is a great place to do some stargazing.

I just love water.

I was lucky enough to witness a dramatic sunset at seal Cove one evening, and I really enjoyed watching this couple sitting on the rocks, enjoying the show.
