I was up early for the sunrise, but a cloudy sky prevailed. Gusty winds drove 3-foot waves along the Lake Michigan shoreline making for a rather unpleasant morning at Kohler-Andrae State Park. Making the most of the situation, I decided to try some long exposures — leaving the camera’s shutter open for up to two minutes at a time. This had the effect of transforming turbulent wave action into a wispy, serene mist.
