After capturing a few photos of the Milky Way over Sand Beach in Acadia national Park, we waited for the full moon to rise. When it did, the change in light was dramatic.

I asked Amanda if she could stand still for about 30 seconds while standing in the chilly Atlantic surf. She did her part, and the resulting photos took on a surreal quality, combining bright stars, wispy clouds, hazy ocean, and dark shadows.
