Once again this spring, we have a red-tailed hawk’s nest right outside our office windows at 21 North Park St. on the UW-Madison campus. One of the birds spends all of its time sitting in the nest, which leads me to guess that there’s an egg in there waiting to hatch.
Today, a third hawk got a little too close for comfort, and the pair of resident birds worked in tandem to fend him off. I couldn’t quite get all three of them in frame at the same time, but these two swooped in very close to the office building for this shot.
Always such a thrill; great photo! You are lucky to be able to view them up close and personal again this year.
