In July, we said goodbye to Kenny G., Amanda’s maze-running rodent companion. His departure left a void in our household, and Amanda set out to fill that space. This time, however, one rat would not suffice. Two rats together, she argued, would entertain each other and live happier, healthier lives.
After weeks of searching, and hours of filling out adoption application forms (they don’t let just anybody adopt fancy rats), we welcomed sisters Kate and Pippa to the family. As their names imply, these gals live the life of rodent royalty, thanks to Amanda, aspiring wildlife rehabilitator.
Stay tuned for Pippa’s blog debut. Tonight, I was content to photograph Kate, once she finally sat still for two seconds.
